Funded Childcare

How our funded sessions work:

We offer government funded hours stretched over 51 weeks per year, and a total of 10 funded sessions a week. Our funded only sessions are Monday to Friday, between 9:16am – 1pm and 1pm to 4:44pm.

Stretching the funding gives parents the benefits of all year round (51weeks) childcare and enables parents to claim a maximum of 22.35hours per week (22hrs 21mins).

Stretched 30hrs funding
    30 hrs x 38 weeks = 1140hrs per year
    1140 ÷ 51weeks = 22.35hrs (22hrs 21mins) per week

Stretched 15hrs funding
    15 hrs x 38 weeks = 570hrs per year
    570 ÷ 51weeks = 11.17hrs (11hrs 10mins) per week

This enables Parents eligible to claim 30 hours per week and utilise a maximum of 6 funded sessions per week. Parents eligible to claim 15 hours per week can utilise a maximum of 3 funded sessions per week.

Any funded hours due to fall on a bank holiday will be utilised during alternative sessions your child attends. For example, if attending full time, instead of a funded session being on a Monday bank holiday, this would be moved to the Thursday of that week. If this is not possible due to the sessions your child attends, your funded hours will be utilised during ‘private sessions’ to ensure parents received the full benefits of their funded hours. A note will be added to your invoice as to which private sessions your funded hours have been allocated to.

We ensure all funded hours are in line with statutory guidance and are provided free to parents. All funded hours require a 2 week notice period to terminate.

Our Funded Delivery Options

Working closely with parents to find the care that’s right for you; we are able to offer a choice of 3 ways our funded childcare is delivered:

Our mixed complete option (Most popular):
This option is available to parents eligible to claim the free funded hours offered as part of the governments funding schemes and require additional private hours. In addition to childcare parents would also like for us to provide both food and consumables.

Parents can request sessions in line with our full day (7:30am – 6:30pm), morning (7:30am – 1pm) and afternoon (1pm – 6:30pm) sessions, Monday to Friday.

These sessions are then made up of (subject to individual funding entitlement):

  • Private hours 7:30am – 09:16am
  • Funded hours 9:16am – 1pm
  • Funded hours 1pm – 4:44pm
  • Private hours 4:44pm – 6:30pm

For sessions where no funding entitlement is applied, for example, you have already utilised your maximum 6 funded sessions for the week, these will be made up of private hours only.

Our private hourly rate it calculated at our session rate divided number of hours in the session.

The free funded hours offered by the government does not cover food and consumables.

For parents choosing this option our expert team will provide all the food to meet your child’s needs throughout their sessions. We take great pride in our menu ensuring it meets all nutritional advice and guidelines, catering for all individual food allergies and intolerances.

For a full 11 hour day we will provide:

  • Formula (If required)
  • Breakfast
  • Morning snack
  • Hot lunch with pudding
  • Afternoon snack

Should this not be possible, in line with the nurseries responsivities we will provide food and/or consumables for your child and a subsequent invoice will be raised for that session. Should a parent repeatedly fail to provide food and/or consumables for their child once opted out, the nursery will follow its Early Help procedures to ensure parents have any support they may need.

To secure your child’s private hours and optional extras (food & consumables) with Toad Hall Day Nursery, a registration fee of £100 and a deposit equivalent to one week’s fees will be payable in advance; the deposit will be deducted from your child’s annual breakdown when they start.

Payments are due on the last working day of the month, one month in advance. In line with all guidance our annual invoices will clearly display for each month, total hours attended, free hours claimed, private hours to be paid as well as any additional optional charges such as food and consumables. To help balance the cost to parents, your annual total will be divided by 12 equal payments due monthly. Any temporary additional sessions will be invoiced in advance for payment by bank transfer before the date of the additional session. Should your child's regular sessions, funding eligibility or optional charges change, your fees will be re-evaluated, and a new annual invoice will be issued. This will supersede any existing invoices relating to your child.
